I would say that Login is just a normal Use Case.<br>
The Use Case diagram does not have to reflect all the relationships between use cases. The detailed use case can provides more as to the relationship between use cases. Login can be a Precondition of subsequent use cases.<br>
Attached is an example real world document. I think you have to see these things used in more detailed examples to 'get it'. The company in question is long since out of business - a victim of the 2000 Internet bubble.<br>

A query regarding UseCases - where does the use case 'login' go on the diagram<br>

Do you put login as an include after all use cases - i.e. Enter new customer would require login first?<br>
Or do you put login and then extend to 'enter new customer' as an option you can do once logged in?<br>

Or a both technically correct?<br>
