for a student to have a client to build a software solution for (i.e. produce a program to solve a customer’s problem), there is enough examples of developers producing and selling software based on an idea (i.e. crazy birds – there was no problem that it
addressed, although it may have created its own problems … ). But I do agree with Mark, about being careful with project choices to maximise student performance in the assessments.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D;mso-fareast-language:EN-US"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D;mso-fareast-language:EN-US">As Unity is a fully fledged game development engine you’ve got access to lots of “colour and movement”, but as with all games (and
software) you actually have to implement some logic – hence programming. Two of the supported languages used in Unity are C# and JavaScript which I think cover the language requirements. But as with all things Software Development it’s all about our students
being able to produce their own software solution and cut their own code, and I think using Unity could be part of this.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
