<div>A combination of the two definitions seems to be a fair compromise. The program needs to be 'acceptable' for users to run, and for programmers to follow the logic and syntax for development and debugging purposes...and perhaps later version upgrades too.</div>

</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt; color:#1F497D">“</span><span style="font-size:14.0pt">criteria and techniques for testing acceptance by users of solutions (4.7)”</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt; color:#1F497D">Janson’s book gives a brief description of acceptance testing and states that “representatives of the organisation are given the chance to test the system for themselves.”</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt; color:#1F497D">Mark Kelly’s website explains Acceptance testing as being carried out by the developer as part of formal testing and then goes on to explain user acceptance testing as being carried out by
the client.</span></p>
