Hi Colin,

I don't want to nit pick but Freeware isn't quite the same as Open source.

"Freeware is copyrighted computer software which is made available for use free of charge, for an unlimited time"

"Open source software is computer software whose source code is available under a license (or arrangement such as the public domain) that permits users to use, change, and improve the software, and to redistribute it in modified or unmodified form."

(Wikipedia)

The beauty of FOSS is that anybody, including students, can modify the code, recompile and admire their handiwork. Freeware is often just a way to monitor computer use and distribute advertising.

<puts soapbox away>

Cheers,
