Stellarium and Celestia are two very cool (and very free) open source astronomy software packages. I had some fun using these to help track the recent comet over Melbourne. We are adding them to our common network image. With one you can spin time forward and back as you look around the heavens (try locking onto the moon then crank up the time) , with the other you can wizz around space at Warp speed looking at a swag of celestial objects (try the guided tour).
