<span>There is an interesting group called Computerbank Victoria that recycles donated computers with quality free software and distributes them to disadvantaged individuals and community groups. Computerbank is run by volunteers and runs free training in Openoffice and Gimp.

</span><span><br>Throwing old computer hardware into landfill just adds to long term toxic issues. It is likewise foolish and irresponsible to pretend that it isn't our problem, offloading it to students or thinking that school dumpster rubbish is recycled. Taking ownership of this problem is an important first step.
