<p>Hi Peter,<br>
Chris mention that a LaTex or the Maths filter needs to be installed on the server so that it will recognise the markup language. There is good documentation on moodle.org. Another suggestion is that you can also install DragMath Editor. This will appear as
an icon on the text editor. When you click on it DragMaths opens up (similar to Equation Editor). You enter your equation and when you click on submit it converts the equation to Latex in the editor box. When you display the question in a browser window it
shows in the required format.<br>
For example the LaTex $$\ H_2SO_4 + Mg \rightarrow\ MgSO_4 + H_2\uparrow\$$ would display as the attached file</p>
<p>Hope this helps</p>

Hi<br>
Does anyone have experience with how to accurately represent/write formula<br>
for science and maths into Moodle areas like quizzes and web pages?<br>
Tips on achieving this would be greatly appreciated.<br>
Thanks<br>

This is the Holy Grail of Moodle. One simple solution is to use pictures of<br>
formula and paste these into the question and multiple choice answers. (<br>
FSCapture <http://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm> is good for this)<br>

Hi Peter,<br>
<br>
There is a LaTex filter module for Moodle that converts LaTex script into math/sci formulae. That would be the most comprehensive solution.<br>
<br>
