There are two things you need. The first is a copy of the database and secondly a copy of the data directory. When you create the new server make sure those two things go back in the same place. Reinstall the same version of Moodle and point it to the restored database and data directory. Hopefully it should all work. Good luck.<br>

Hi folks,<br>
I've been asked to recover/restore course data from the HDD of a Moodle server.<br>
Server has died but left files intact.<br>

I have access to a hosted Moodle site for eventual restoration and use of the course material<br>
but I don't know how to identify and extract the course data. Moodle version is 1.7.<br>
