Text Box
You can set the character length of the Text Box and the maximum length of text entered.

You can use the Length and Precision settings for enabling HTML editor. It is not recommended to enable the HTML editor if you want to save the responses to CVS/Excel.

See the Length & Precision parameters to set the number of columns.
Date
(e.g. 4/21/2002)
Use this question type if you expect the response to be a correctly formatted date. The format will depend upon the language currently being used by the portfolio respondent. For example 4/21/2007 (US); 21/4/2007 (UK); 21-4-2007 (France); etc. An example illustrated with the current day's date will be displayed in the portfolio. If an "impossible" or wrongly formatted date is entered, it will either be re-written or reformatted correctly (is possible) and/or an error message will be displayed to the respondent.
Numeric
Use this question type if you expect the response to be a correctly formatted number. By using the Length and Precision parameters (see online Help button) you can specify the length and number of decimal places required.
Section Text
This is not a question but a (short) text which will be displayed to introduce a series of questions.
When editing an existing question, you can change that question's type but only within the two groups of types: types with/without possible anwers.
Example 1.- Question text: "Do you like Moodle?" with original Yes/No type; you can keep question text and change type to Text Box.
Example 2.- Question text: "What is your favorite CMS?" with original Radio Buttons type; you can keep question text and possible answers list and change type to Check Boxes.
Obviously, it is not recommended to edit questions in a portfolio which has already been answered by a number of respondents.
