Bernd Meyer (Monash).<br>

CS4HS is an initiative sponsored by Google to promote Computer Science<br>
and Computational Thinking in the secondary curriculum. The CS4HS<br>
Victoria meetings play an important role in preparation for a new VCE<br>
study in Computer Science. The workshop will be of particular interest<br>
to secondary teachers of maths, science, and information technology.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The goals of this workshop are: (i) to update secondary teachers on<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">current developments in the field of Computer Science; (ii) to provide<br>
hands-on training with innovative methods for teaching computational<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">thinking; (iii) to contribute to the development of a new Computer<br>
Science subject in the Victorian Certificate of Education; and (iv) to<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">discuss sustainable models for ongoing PD in teaching computational<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">thinking.<br>

As in the previous two CS4HS workshops, the program will<br>
consist of presentations on topics in CS and CS education,<br>
together with various training activities, large group discussions,<br>
and working group sessions.<o:p></o:p></p>

Workshop participation is limited, and priority will be given to those<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">who register by the deadline and commit to attending the full<br>
program. Lunches are provided. There is no registration fee.<br>
Unfortunately there is no CRT support available. Participants<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">from outside Melbourne can apply for travel subsidies and<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">accommodation, subject to the limits of our budget (requests<br>
