<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">Last year we spoke about you possibly making the journey out this way in order to promote/give information on the new Digital Technologies area and General Capabilities in the Australian Curriculum.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">After consulting some others I would like to propose that we plan for a meeting in Sale (that saves you an hr travel each way) and makes it just that little more attractive for other schools (sth Gippsland).</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">I propose an afternoon session from say 1pm – 3pm. We would invite every school (secondary) catholic/DEET/other (???) and plan for some time in Mid Term 2, 2014.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I’m just alerting you to a VCAA Notice to Schools, which outlines the curriculum and reporting responsibilities that government and Catholic schools have with respect to AusVELS in 2015. Regarding Digital Technologies (one of two subjects
within the Technologies Learning Area), schools are expected to <b>begin</b> implementing the curriculum
<b>from</b> 2015. This can mean many things for example, a staggered implementation beginning in 2015, with whole-school coverage achieved within three years; a full implementation across a school from 2016 etc. How this done is a school decision. As yet no
‘final date’ for complete implementation has been published.</p>
