You need a utility like XNVIEW, which is free and brilliant. It lets
you do batch operations easily, like resize to a fixed size, a
percentage of the original size etc. IT can process thousands of images
in minutes. Visit <a moz-do-not-send="true" href="http://xnview.com/">http://xnview.com/</a>.
<br>
<br>
I can't live without it. It also does neat jobs like create a page of
thumbnailed images linked to the big image, and batch-apply watermarks
to images.<br>

since Mark mentions storage space, this comes to mind. In a junior
class, we have an assignment that requires students to access a bank of
school produced photos on a particular topic, and copy 10 or so to
their work. The problem is that the teacher that took these photos did
so with his new whiz bang camera, and he saved them (134) as bigger
than 3 MB images EACH. The photos are taking ages to download even as
thumbnails and then 10 or so need to be selected and copied to the
student's work. This is a painfully slow process. The teacher of the
class has asked if there is an easy way for him to access the images,
then re save them IN BULK as a smaller file size. I don't know the
answer. Please help.<br>

"Fully 12 years after the original G3 iMac dropped support for the
3.5-inch floppy disk, Sony has finally decided to stop making them. The
reason is a lack of demand. The surprise is that it took so long.<br>
<br>
If you still rely on the massive 1.44MB of space to move files quickly
around between far-flung computers, don't worry: Sony will keep the
production lines running until March 2011, giving you a year to
stockpile the things. You won't be alone. Apparently, "lack of demand"
is somewhat relative, and Sony sold a jaw-dropping 12 million floppies
in Japan during 2009."<br>
