<div>On page 70-72 the 2011 study design provides a sample outcome for spreadsheets.

It's a pity that the sample is the "produce payslips for workers" variety which is not what spreadsheets should be used for.
<br>
<br>
Spreadsheets have always been poor at producing individualised bulk output, and having to use Word's primitive mail merge facilities is not a good indication to students of using the right tool for the job.<br>
<br>
IMHO, a better spreadsheet application would have been playing 'what if' modeling, changing pay rates and bonus conditions to see the global effect on wages.<br>
<br>
Sadly, if the draft study design had included the 'Advice for Teachers' section where this sample outcome appeared, it would have been possible to provide this feedback before the draft was accredited... O well.<br clear="all">
