color:#1F497D'>Hampton Park Secondary has 4, 72 minute periods and a 15 day
cycle. Most teachers and most students I've spoken to about it don’t like
it. For our kids at least, 72 minutes is a long time for them to remain
focussed on class work, even with a variety of tasks for them to do. One good
thing about the 72 minute periods is that teachers can get a lot of work done in
a 72 minute prep period. BTW IT at years 7 and 8 is fully integrated into the
curriculum (which is not very effective – students are not learning good
IT practices), year 9 has several electives and are 2 periods a week, while the
year 10 IT electives go for three periods a week.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
