Hi all,

The Smartcopying website has information on legalities of using Youtube for Australian schools
http://www.smartcopying.edu.au/scw/go/pid/855

Smartcopying is a site managed by people who include Delia Browne of the National Copyright Unit. Delia Is one of the strongest advocates for teachers and students in the copyright area. She can provide advice to jurisdictions on copyright-related issues. I think she has a legal background - I normally never enjoy listening to lawyers but I really enjoyed sessions that Delia has presented.

You'll also find lots of other material about copyright on Smartcopying. Useful for teachers and students.

Ken Price
TASITE.
I find it very interesting that we are all so quick to assist with Ms X's request for help with you tube capture. It is clearly stated on You Tube's site that this is prohibited and in fact you tube have already begun suing even promoters of any software
which downloads any content from their site. According to their policy it is OK to stream the movie but NOT OK to download:

There have been those who have been screamed down by the righteous for stepping ON or OVER the line of copyright infringement in the past (including myself) but where are these evangelists now? They are nowhere to be found and
in fact can even be seen assisting this blatant "line dancing"!

Is it because we know that much of You Tubes content is already illegal as far as copyright goes, so we are accepting that 2 wrongs make a right!

Is it because You Tube have lots of money?

There is another reason I can think of but it's way to un-PC to speak off!
