it burns down and takes out all your student computer facilities makes one take
disaster planning a little more seriously (BSC 2000)</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>2. I know of a school that religiously ran backups
for every night at midnight using a full rotation system, only to discover that
when a backup was needed every tape was blank</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>3. And on a field trip to Penhalurick's hardware
store many moons ago when they were amongst the first to have fully computerised
their store's operation, Mr P was so confident in his system that he went over
to the power switch board, warned those on check out that 'this was a drill' and
pressed a big red button. The whole store went off. 45 seconds later the
emergency generator had cut in, and about a minute later all the checkouts were
operational again....very impressive!</FONT></DIV>

wondering how testing can help one recover from disaster. <BR>Sure it can
help _prevent_ disaster, but that's not "recovery".<BR><BR>How does testing
