Passwords have to be put in via NTFS persmissions on files on t=
he<br>
server if you are running Win2003 or similar with IIS.<br>
So, go to the server, use Windows explorer or My Computer locat=
e
the<br>
file or folder on which you wish to place restrictions, and using right<br>
mouse button, properties, click on the security tab. Add or remove<br>
groups/users to have rights to the folder. User Everyone will need to<br>
be removed if you don't want the ordinary browser user to see the file.<br>
When you add a user to the allowed list, they will use their Win2003<b=
r>
username and password to access the file. Test it on an innocuous file<br>
until you get the hang of it.<br>
A slightly different process applies with a Linux server running a web=
<br>
server.<br>
