Some of the rhetoric on the ultranet project description page
<a href="http://www.sofweb.vic.edu.au/blueprint/fs1/s@c.htm">http://www.sofweb.vic.edu.au/blueprint/fs1/s@c.htm</a> is a little extreme.<br>
<br>
"It will integrate the key processes
involved in the day to day running of a school and a classroom. It will
redefine the nature and purpose of all interactions between members of the
school community."<br>
<br>
I can hardly imagine any online system "redefining the nature and purpose of all interactions between members of the
school community." Does this mean the demise of all face-to-face classroom interaction? <br>
<br>
Given that the classroom serves many functions within a school it is
unlikely that at least in the short term that any online system will
provide more than an additional facet to the existing educational
paradigm.<br>
<br>
Time will tell...<br>
