and have already implemented quite a few of the ideas I got from it. I
would especially like to thank Andrew Beaumont – my students loved the
concentration game so much some of them have made cards for other subjects to

font-family:Arial'>One of the things I introduced early in the unit was
‘news’. At the beginning of our double period we share a news
item. I ask each student to come prepared but not all of them share each
time (it would take too long). The aim behind it was to broaden their
horizons and general knowledge particularly when it comes to unit 4 and world
events / geography. However I have found it to be really effective and
the students are bringing some great topics to class. We try to match it
to the content of the class each week but basically any health issue will
do. My weaker students tend to double up and use articles from English
but I don’t see a problem with that because it still enhances their
understanding. Anyway, a simple idea but it generates a lot of
discussion.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
