<p class="MsoNormal">A quick overview of some of our apps:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The <b>iWorks</b> suite is a better choice than Docs2Go. In D2G the spreadsheet does not support charts and you cannot add graphics to the slides.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>The</b> <b>Elements</b> is a great interactive app for Science/Chem but it is not cheap at $15.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">For eBook creation we use either <b>Creative</b> <b>Book</b>
<b>Builder</b> or <b>Book</b> <b>Creator</b> – the latter allows to use of graphics for backgrounds.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We are starting to QR codes around the college so we use <b>
QR code creator</b> and <b>i-nigma</b> to read them.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>FileBrowser</b> allows direct access to files stored on our network directories.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We use Moodle as our LMS and while Safari is OK for most tasks, to upload files to the Assignment activity we use
<b>mTouch+.</b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>eClicker Host</b> is a great app to create quizzes and students use the
<b>eClicker</b> app to take the quiz in real time. A graph instantly displays the student choices on the teacher iPad<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Lino it</b> is good for collaboratively work. Students post sticky notes in real-time and these can then be reorganised.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>SketchExplorer</b> is a new one I have just found. It will open Geometer’s Sketchpad v5 files.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In Maths a number of apps are used:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Distance Free for measuring distance<o:p></o:p></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We have just bought some datalogging probes which link to the iPad via a Pasco AirLink and use the
<b>SparkVue</b> app.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Audionote</b> is one I like to use. As you type/write/draw it records in sync.<br>
<b>Notability</b> does similar things – it has the advantage of a palm rest so that writing is more comfortable<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b>ShowMe</b> and <b>Explain Everything</b> are two apps that allow you to write/draw and record at the same time. Good alternative for students to use as an assessment tool<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">To find Physics apps you need to be quite specific: <b>Refractive, Friction, Collisions1D, PhysicsXL, Prism, Mechanics, RippleTank, IOP, Vectorama, Electromag, DataAnalysis, Video Physics, Khan Academy: Physics 1<o:p></o:p></b></p>
