Google docs is for me one of the most useful technologies in
assessment. For example one of the biggest headaches with large
scale peer assessment is collating the peer scores and translating
that into a meaningful result. Google forms makes that a snap by
pushing the results straight into an Excel spreadsheet for you. I
love good, moderated peer assessment as both a metacognitive tool
and an engagement strategy but always used to groan at the work
involved to run it properly, no longer. Here is a link to an <a

</a><br>
Cooperative editing of documents in real-time is also easy on the
Google text editor and you can see exactly who's doing what in
realtime. Great for collaborative projects and also for peer
feedback (which is what I use it for primarily) but is also
tremendous for student created assessment rubrics and a million
other things. Any LMS that can incorporate a gallery function is
also extremely useful for bringing work together in one place to be
reviewed and assessed by peers to use in conjunction. <br>
<br>
Google forms is also great for seeking feedback from students, even
if it's just a quick thumbs up thumbs down or you can set up quick
revision quizzes. Here is a link to an <a

moz-do-not-send="true">example</a><br>
<br>
Survey Monkey is also very useful for gaining feedback or
alternatively if your school website runs Joomla then there are any
number of easily configured polling applications for it that you can
control access to for students or staff or parents.<br>
<br>
I don't know where your staff is at re assessment practices but
there is a lot of good reading re assessment of, for and as learning
on education.vic.gov.au (<a
href="http://www.education.vic.gov.au/studentlearning/assessment/preptoyear10/assessadvice/default.htm"
moz-do-not-send="true">link here</a>) that could provide very
useful frameworks for ongoing PD.<br>
<br>
Re keynote speaker Karen Green is very good on assessment, Michael
Pohl also has fantastic practical strategies on assessment and
differentiation, depends how much you want to spend I guess and
where you want to pitch it.<br>
<br>
Hope this helps<br>
