<P><STRONG>GameMaker for Primary Teachers</STRONG> <STRONG>15th <SPAN id=OBJ_PREFIX_DWT1045 class=Object><FONT color=#00008b>September</FONT></SPAN> (9.30 to 3.30 pm) and Game Maker for Secondary Teachers (17th September 9.30 to 3.30 pm)</STRONG></P>
<P>The <SPAN id=OBJ_PREFIX_DWT1046 class=Object><A href="http://www.progawards.vitta.org.au/" target=_blank><FONT color=#00008b>Programming Awards Competition</FONT></A></SPAN> is coming up (entries close on 16<SUP><FONT size=2>th</FONT></SUP> <SPAN id=OBJ_PREFIX_DWT1047 class=Object><FONT color=#00008b>October</FONT></SPAN>). How can you gain confidence in programming skills, graphics, music and creating engaging gameplay, to help your students (and you) showcase your talents?</P>
<P>VITTA and Tony Forster present a practical day of learning with some of your students where you will explore Game Maker in order to learn, inspire and engage. Game Maker is a program that allows you to make exciting computer games, without the need to write a single line of code. Making games with Game Maker is a lot of fun and allows you to create professional looking games within very little time.</P>
<P>Game Maker's simple drag and drop interface is friendly enough to use with as young as Year 3, but through its powerful scripting language, it is suitable right up to Year 12 and beyond. With Game Maker you can easily create games such as top view, platform games, first person shooters, 3D and networked multiplayer games. It is a fully fledged programming language capable of non game applications such as physics simulations and databases. </P>
