Yes, we decided for a mix of Netbooks (stairs no problem, use on excursions encouraged) and Macbooks (COWS so wheeled areas only). More permanent classroom deployments will use Sun Terminals (cheap and robust). Money saved is back into our pockets for other initiatives or tech support.<br>

are about to roll out some netbooks... the school I am at currently has no mobile
units (COWs) and the netbooks will be the first venture for many staff in using
portable computers in their classrooms. We will be looking at other Laptops etc
