Another cool opensource product that was built on VLC is Miro. Forget about the format wars. Miro can play MPEG, Quicktime, AVI, H.264, Divx, Windows Media, Flash Video, and almost every other codec that you can throw at it. Best of all, you can search for and view these from inside the browser .. even episodes on the ABC. I chewed up my Internet bandwidth last month on a frenzy of free subscriptions and tutorials that I must now sit back and enjoy watching .. (sigh)
Hi All

I am after a reputable free flv viewer for my Vista laptop. Is there something out there that people trust?
I have a firefox addon that will download youtube flv videos.
I am used to Debian Gnu/Linux where you trust software in repositories and I am a little wary of downloading something malicious.

I've got the the classroom with the new electronic whiteboard, and I've been using it amongst other things to show the occaisional you tube video. Yesterday our network connection was not up to its usual high standard, and it took ages to play the 'Wikis in Plain English' video, which BTW I reckon is great.

Cheers
