VITTA Slide to Open - digital learning conference programs are in schools this week! Only 7 weeks to go - fantastic prizes to be won each week of registration!
Early bird registrations are now open for our annual conference, Slide to Open digital learning - to be held at Flemington Racecourse, Monday 23 - Wed 25 November 2009 and VITTA has fantastic prize giveaways to offer registrants.
Each week leading up to the conference, every person who registers to attend Slide to Open - digital learning will be in the draw to win a fantastic prize for that week. VITTA Outstanding Achievement Awards 2009
VITTA will be presenting these Awards at the conference dinner on Tuesday 24 November. Nominations are now open so don't delay!
There are four Outstanding Achievement Awards in 2009:

Outstanding Achievement by a Primary teacher ~ The recipients of the Outstanding Achievement by a Primary teacher acknowledges the contribution of this teacher to the education community in the primary sector over a number of years. This award in 2009 is in its third year. Nominations begin in October of each year.

Outstanding Achievement by a Secondary teacher ~ The recipients of the Outstanding Achievement by a Secondary teacher acknowledges the contribution of this teacher to the education community in the secondary sector over a number of years. This award in 2009 is in its ninth year and is a very coveted award. Nominations begin in October of each year.
? ICT Teacher of the Year ~ Nominations for this award recognised the achievements of an educator from either primary or secondary sector. This is a new award in 2009. We are also very pleased that Monash University Information Technology Faculty is sponsoring this award in 2009.

1in1 video competition for schools!
There's still time to enter the 1in1 video and 6in6 digital photography competitions and be in the running to win great prizes!
1in1 is a video competition for teams of students. 1in1 is a challenge for school students to work closely together in a team to plan, create and film a short video or animation. It is also about active participation, problem solving, creative thinking, (as, for, of) learning in multimodal ways and having fun.
Students have one week [5 consecutive school days] to write, film and edit a 1 minute video or animation.
Submission of entries
These must be in the VITTA office, either by post or electronic submission by 9:00 a.m. Monday 16.11.2009.

6in6 digital photography competition
6in6 is a digital photography competition for teams of school students that aims to develop students' digital and visual literacy skills. Students have six weeks to create six images, using a readily-available device such as a mobile phone, digital camera or video camera.
The images should communicate a theme chosen by the students and will be judged on how effectively this theme is conveyed in the images, as well as the quality of the images presented, including design, visual appeal and composition. The images can be presented in a number of ways: digital story, photo montage, slide presentation, e-book, poster... the choice is yours!
Entries are due 16 November 2009 and you can register online. Go to www.3in6.vitta.org.au (just click on the 6in6 tab).
