We think we will make foam core/cardboard prototypes for production for Unit 1 as this can be done from home- our students were all making smaller products so this would be possible. Then maybe we will laser cut or 3d
print components for them that they draw up. They would be modified designs of their products.

Our year 11s asked if they could just do their unit 2 folios in terms 2 so if they return in term 3 they can make the 2 products they have designed in the first half of the year. So that is something we might be about
to partly do as well.

I was also thinking of conducting some of the materials/process tests myself via video link with the yr 12s for criteria 5 and they write them up like a science prac observation- that is if I can get into the workshop
as school. I’ve been conducting my classes that way for 3 weeks. The students can do all of the prep work as far at the requirements of the tests are and then write up the results. I suppose we will have to wait and hear from the VCAA about this though. I
would basically just be their hands etc. Don’t know if that would be allowed but might work.
