<p>Hi All : Re 'quality' suggestions</p>
<p>In addition to Gabriella's thorough list, I encourage students to think about and include the following aspects and present this as a brain storm diagram under the heading QUALITY PRODUCT. It usually makes for good class discussion and thought.</p>
<ul>
<li>Quality in terms of all the <strong>materials</strong> used: best quality within budget, no manufacturers flaws, dye fast, preshrunk , appropriate matching threads and fastenings .....
</li><li>Quality achieved due to appropriate <strong>construction processes:</strong> Cut on straight grain (or accurate bias), accurately cut out, pattern markings transferred, clean hands and workspace, trimming threads, pressing as you go, refine skills that
are unfamiliar, clip or notch curves, and ... </li><li>Quality personalised <strong>fit: </strong>taking accurate measurements, checking these against pattern before cutting out, making toile, scheduling fittings with the client on production plan and ....
</li><li>Quality <strong>finish and presentation: </strong>Clean garment, hand finishing neat and secure, threads trimmed, finished garment freshly pressed and appropriately hung or neatly folded with tissue in a box or bag, care and laundering instructions and
......</li></ul>
