<p class="MsoNormal">Our school is going through a review this year and I have been given the task to look at specialist subjects in the middle school.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Currently we have the following system within Design Technology but are looking into other options that maybe possible.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Year 7 – 1, 70 minute period per week for Design Technology (Wood, ,Metal, Plastics & CAD) for 1 semester. Then the next semester the same in Food and Fabrics.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Year 8 – 3, 70 minute periods per fortnight for Design Technology (Wood, ,Metal, Plastics & CAD) for 1 semester. Then the next semester the same in Food.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Years 7 and 8 are compulsory but from Year 9 onwards it is an elective subject.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I am not sure if this is the norm or if other schools have a different set up. Any suggestions/information to feedback would be much appreciated.<o:p></o:p></p>
