Hi, just joined the forum and noticed this post on lamps. Made one at school when I was a kid, 240v now an issue. Suggest contact Scorpio Technology who have a Touch sensor lamp kit that use a 12v plug pack which from my way of thinking lowers the risk in
the voltage in the accessible circuit, which is on a PCB and which uses strip mounted LEDs that should be fairly cool when in use.

Hi all. Just a query re making lamps. Are you allowed to use 240 v cords/bulbs or do you need to use 12 v. Can you buy cords (240v)and use them or is it not allowed under ohs rules. There is nothing on the DEET web site in regard to this.
Thanks

Subject: [Design and Technology] Unit 3 & 4 PD & T Sat Assessment Criteira - revised Feb 2015

Hi All,

I hope everyone has had a productive start to the year. Just letting you know the revised SAT criteria are up on the VCAA website.

http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/vce/technology/SBA_proddes.pdf

My thoughts are the revisions are very good, there is finally a criterion that assesses the actual quality of the product without the requirement for folio documentation and the four part ev. Criteria for finished product has a statement at each level.

The only issues I can find is in Criterion 1 - The product design process is mentioned in both of these statements. I believe the first statement should finish after "design options" and the "product design process" should remain in the second statement.

Very limited criteria to evaluate the design options and the product design process.
Limited criteria questions to evaluate the product design process.

Would love to hear everyone else's thoughts.

Regards,
Melissa :)
