<p>the last episode of The Checkout - episode 7 is very good to show Product Design students as it has a good segment on obsolescence. While it uses the term "planned" it details when and why obsolesence started and discusses the shift from functional to style
obsolesence (though not with those words). Also touches on product responsibilities and landfill issues.</p>
